I enjoy indulging in the shallow side of life, with hobbies that include collecting margarita recipes, hot tub dips, and ogling hot guys at the beach. A connoisseur of the perverse and esoteric, my days are spent among dusty tomes of ancient knowledge, or, conversely, surfing porn sites in the name of research. Mixing the natural born southern propensity for sarcasm and the environmental western straight-shooting sensibility, I do my damnedest to produce mainstream fiction, literary erotica, and fine works of pure, unadulterated smut. With characters ranging from supernatural demons to modern-day cowboys, alternative illustrated men to Victorian dandies, the addiction to history and atmosphere is everpresent, and laced through with sensual pleasure. my latest projects include werewolves, rodeo cowboys, and fistfighting rednecks.

Doce is the fourth book in BA Tortuga's Roughstock series. At the time I picked this up I had no idea it was part of a series. I do recommend reading the others first, because characters from the other books appear though out the story. I often felt lost while reading this story without the background.
The best thing about this book is the romance between our two male leads Balta and Joa. Balta is a renowned
City/Country
Emmy doesn't really like cowboys. She might be from Texas, but she's a city girl, truly invested in keeping Austin weird, just like the slogan says. With her corsets and tattoos, she stands out at the western bar where she ends up after being abandoned by her friends. That might be why she catches the attention of Cotton, who's a bullrider by trade, and definitely a cowboy. Cotton thinks Emmy might be the most fascinating girl he's ever met. She's not a cowgirl, and she's not model skinny, but she's beautiful and smart and he wants her like he's never wanted anything before.
As one date turns into months of seeing each other in between bullriding events, Cotton starts to think that Emmy is the all-important One. Cotton's friends and family might not be so sure, though. As Emmy's life starts to unravel around her, Cotton has to fight his fears and his confusion to prove to Emmy that city and country might just be able to work after all.
Blind Ride
Jason Scott is at the top of the bull riding game, on his way to a winning season. Along with his traveling partner, Andy Baxter, he's riding hard on the circuit, working around the country with all of the other bull riders and bull fighters, living the good life. The only thing he wishes he had is Bax, but he's afraid to take the step that would make them more than friends, worried that it will ruin everything. When a terrible accident leaves Jason unable to see, his whole life goes south. Jason decides to chuck it all, determined to go home and hide at his momma's ranch. Bax has other ideas. He wants to make sure his best friend doesn't give up, and he hatches a plan that stuns Jason and makes their friends and family think he's crazy. With the help of the other bull riders and a very persistent bull fighter named Coke, Bax convinces Jason to give life one more try. With Jason cautiously learning to hope, and his relationship with Bax going to the next level, life gets pretty complicated. Everyone gets in on the project, from Jason's strong-willed mother to an entire ranch full of children, all of them working to help Jason do what he loves. Will Bax be able to convince Jason that he can still ride, even if he's blind to everything the world has to offer?

Roughstock: Blind Ride by BA Tortuga is a fun filled, sexy ride from start to finish. There's nothing better than a couple of rough around the edges cowboys who capture not only each other's hearts, but the reader's hearts as well. Blind Ride immediately lassoed and caught this reader's attention from the very first page until the last word.

When it comes to being a great entertainer, Dillon Walsh is definitely on top of his game. Even though his job as a rodeo clown is dangerous, he loves every minute of it because he adores making people smile and distracting the bulls. But, for some time now, his VERY favorite thing about working as a rodeo clown is being around the bullfighters; in particularly the one they call the fearless one, Coke Pharri
Amorzinhos
Balta loves Joa more than he loves himself, which is saying a lot. He knows that Joaquim loves him, too, but he also knows that sometimes Joa needs someone who can be more of a friend than a lover.
Which is where Raul comes in. Raul is new to the bullriding circuit, and needs their help. But he's also kind, fond of Joa, and smoking hot. Balta decides that Raul is just what he and Joa need to even out the balance of power, but will Joaquim and Raul be as easy to convince that they all belong together? Sequel to the popular Arcana, Doce.

Amorzinhos is the fifth book in BA Tortuga's Roughstock series. It's a direct sequel to the fourth book in the series Doce. So if you have not read the fourth book you will be very lost. I also recommend reading the other books in the series as some characters from previous books do appear.

A Christmas Wren
Wren is in Colorado to do a last favor for her grandmother when she meets a cowboy she just can't resist, at least for one night. Robin wants to warm Wren up, and he's more than willing to help her with her errand, but she doesn't think she wants to spend Christmas with a stranger, preferring to go home to Texas. When the weather has other plans for Wren, stranding her in the mountains, it's Robin who comes to the rescue, finding a way to keep her out of the storm. Cowboys might just be Wren's weakness, but there's nothing weak about accepting the gifts that Christmas brings.

"A Christmas Wren" was a different type of read. The story was a good one, with a solid plot and great sex scenes. The dialogue was a bit awkward for me. As a Southerner, we often use words like Honey and Baby when talking to most people, but this story used them in awkward positions that I wasn't too fond of. Most readers may not notice this problem or may find it appropriate. This is just an opinion from on

Thanks to her attempt to make it as a freelance writer, Sara McGregor is on a tour of the west, ending it at a Wyoming dude ranch. She’s just there to do an interview on the simple life, but things get very complicated when she meets Cal Pearson. All Sara McGregor thought she wanted out of life was to be a successful writer, and being tapped to pen a travelogue about dude ranches across America seemed like a step in that direction. She was practically done with her research, which entailed traveling from ranch to ranch, interviewing owners, staff and guests. There was only one more stop to make, in Wyoming, and then back to her lukewarm life in Berkle

So it was really a no-brainer when I noticed that this book was available to review. Ever since Beau and Sam’s appearance in the beginning of the series, I’ve wondered about Beau, the sexy Cajun bullrider, and when I saw that the third

Getting Out More by B.A. Tortuga is a very sweet, short story. At just under nine pages, it’s about some well intentioned young children who want their divorced father, Rowdy, to get out of the house more, and start dating again. Getting out more also has the Friends-to Lovers theme, which admittedly is one of my favorite themes in the romance genre.
Rowdy and Darren have been best friends
