Author: Brenda Whiteside | Website

Born and raised in Arizona, Brenda's travels had been limited to California, Nevada, and New Mexico until she married a man doing a stint in the Army. If the Army offered nothing else, she and her husband, at least, had the opportunity to see a good part of the world. Their gypsy hearts kept them on the move in civilian life until nineteen years ago when they fell in love with Minnesota. They enjoy hiking, motorcycling, fishing, live theater and the Twins.

Brenda is blessed with creative soul mates. Her husband is an excellent photographer. Her son is a singer/song writer with talent unending. He lives in a far off town in the west with his lady, among the pines. Her dog, Rusty, creates joy. After all, he's the smartest dog in the world!

Brenda's been writing all of her life. Early on her writing consisted mostly of the captions on her artwork. She was certain her destiny was to be an artist. It wasn't until college that she found more satisfaction filling a blank page with words than an empty canvas with color and left her paints behind.

After she dabbled in poetry and short stories, she turned to writing novels. Whether she's writing short stories or novels, the characters drive her forward, most often taking her along for the ride.

Sleeping With The Lights On was an intriguing, suspenseful book. I had trouble relating to Sandra but Carson is the typical Texan. However, I really enjoyed reading this book. The author kept my attention throughout. I wasn’t on the edge of my seat but I was anxious to see what happened next. The author’s descriptive writing enabled me to be a part of the book. I could immerse myself in the ambian
