Author: Camilla Chafer | Website
Hi, I'm Camilla and I'm the author of the Stella Mayweather Series, an urban fantasy/mystery. The series starts with Illicit Magic and a lonely young woman, Stella, who has been caught up in a terrifying witch hunt and is whisked thousands of miles away to what she thinks is safety to learn her craft. The series is a blend of magic, mystery and romance with a splash of humour - and while the girls really do go all out to save themselves, there's always a hunky guy or two on hand to help them out. The series continues with Unruly Magic and Devious Magic, both out now. I live in London, England, but I try to travel as often as I can – I’ve been all over the US and Europe. In my day job I'm a journalist and editor so I write for magazines, newspapers and websites throughout the world (my favourite assignment was spending a week riding rollercoasters - if you listen carefully you can probably still hear me screaming) but writing fiction has always been my first love.

Devious Magic
Witch hunters who will stop at nothing. A deadly foe who wants to harness witches’ power. A secret supernatural world that is in danger of revealing itself. When the recent surge of supernatural activity in the secretive town of Wilding apparently draws the fearsome Brotherhood, Stella knows she could be risking her life to give in to their demand to return to England. But defying them sees her world fall apart as her best friend is kidnapped. Lured home to her birthplace, Stella’s powers are tested to the limit as she battles magic and trickery at the heart of the Brotherhood’s operations. But flight across the world brings as many questions as it does answers, and Stella can never be sure who is on her side and who will betray her.
Unruly Magic
The sequel to Illicit Magic... A witch on the run. A quiet little town where everything is far from normal. A fractured witch council threatening to tear the supernatural world apart. Life hasn't been easy for novice witch Stella but small town life seems to be agreeing with her. When a seemingly innocent girl begs for her protection, Stella is pulled into a dangerous game of unruly magic. With bewitching friends and two super-sexy mysterious men by her side, Stella is plunged into a mystery where she must uncover dangerous secrets before she ends up paying the ultimate price.
Illicit Magic
More than three hundred years after the most terrifying witch hunts the world has ever known, it's happening again. Racing from attack by the ruthless Brotherhood in London to the powerful witch council in New York, twenty-four-year-old novice witch Stella has to put her faith in strangers just to stay alive but she might not be any safer in their midst than from the danger she is running from. Sent to an extraordinary safe house by the sea to learn her craft, Stella finds there is more than one dark secret in her new family: Étoile’s sister is spoken of in fear and sadness; Marc is supposed to be a powerful witch but is missing his magic; where does the owner of their safe house vanish to every day and why does Evan have the eyes of someone not quite human? There is only one secret that someone will do anything to keep quiet, but whose secret is it and will Stella have to pay the price for silence?

Stella has spent her life living in a world without connections. She has grown up in various foster homes always having to leave when something unusual happens to anything or anyone around her. She works for a temp agency going to different jobs and filling in, never staying long enough to have someone question odd occurrences around her. This is all about to change. There has been a string of murders of wome

This is a wonderful collection of good witch tales, without being heavy on the moralizing (only a little) and leavened with humor. It's done as well as one of Martin Greenburg's collections. It's not primarily humorous, but definitely left me with a smile, while introducing me to some authors that I will have to look out for in the future.
