Love by the Book

A sweet marriage-of-convenience story set in the lavish homes ofÿ1901 Rhode Island.

Melinda Hollister's sister and Nick Bryson's brother tragically die in a train wreck, leaving behind three-year-old daughter Nell. Much to Melinda's surprise, she and Nick become co-guardians of the child. The three of them spend July and August at Summerhill, a seaside mansion inÿNewport, Rhode Island,ÿwhere they try to get better acquainted and work out a solution to their dilemma with the help of missionary friends.ÿ

Though neither loves the other, Melinda and Nick marry to provide a stable home for Nell. But when Nell is kidnapped, they put aside their differences to search for her. Their emerging feelings for each other soon strengthen as they focus their attention on the rescued child they mutually adore.

Although Melinda and Nick are both Christians, they've never before taken the Bible as a serious guidebook for their lives. But now they admit they love each other and that their love is based "on the Book." Following principles written in the Bible they've both learned to put each other's needs ahead of their own.ÿ"Let no man seek his own good, but the good of every other man." Accepting this precept gives them much more in common and the hope of aÿpassionate future grounded in mutual love.

Love on a Dime

In age of elegance and excess, Lilly Westbrook longs for a love both true and eternal.

Newport, Rhode Island, 1899, is a place of shimmering waves, sleek yachts, and ladies of leisure. Of opulent mansions that serve as summer cottages for the rich and famous. Home of railroad magnates and banking tycoons--dashing young men and the women who aspire to marry them.

But it's not the place for lady novelists. Especially not those who pen disreputable dime novels. This poses a problem for Lilly Westbrook, because that's exactly what she does.

No one in Lilly's social set knows she pens fiction under the nom de plume Fannie Cole. Not her family or the wealthy young man about to propose to her. And especially not Jackson Grail, the long-lost beau who just bought her publishing company...and who stirs her heart more than she cares to admit.

But Lilly must put aside her feelings and follow the path that will maintain her family's social stature and provide the financial security that everyone is depending on.

Now Lilly faces a double dilemma. Can she continue to protect her secret identity? And will she have the courage to choose the man who will risk it all just to win her heart?
