Marcus is a young Roman who is used to the good things in life - banquets, wine by the jug-ful, and quite a few lovers that are of both genders and run the strata of social classes. All of this comes to an end with his mother's remarriage to a senator who would like to see Marcus become the son he does not have and Marcus does not wish to become.
