Home to Hawk Ridge
Contemporary, Paranormal Erotica
165 Pages
Katerina Bauer’s history is woven with threads of herbal magic and the powers of animal magnetism. She was orphaned as a child and raised by her aunts. These women use trickery and fascination to earn a dirty living. They’ve also made Kat their punching bag for twenty-three years.
We enter Kat’s life just as she strikes out on her own. She’s left the Bauer mansion, moving to a small town in northern Wisconsin—Hawk Ridge. Kat lacks confidence in her magical skills, but is pretty sure she’ll remain lonely without them. With a gypsy spell on her lips, she empowers a candle to attract a mate.
Steve Rider is drawn to her magic flame, unaware of its magical implications. He’s the one. He unwittingly falls into the arms of a bewitching green-eyed goddess. When Kat’s magical charms lead to a love affair, she struggles with her own deceit. Is she just like her Bauer family after all? She’s about to learn her subtle charms are no match for the wiles of the cruelest gypsy of them all.

When I was younger, I often wished I could do something to catch a young fellow's eye. In Gemini Judson's book, "Home to Hawk Ridge," I get to see just what could happen if my wishing had come true. Katerina is something else. Her whole sense of reasoning is not like our own, but then perhaps that is how a gypsy witch thinks. She casts a charm upon herself to be beautiful and sexy (oh how I wish I c

She's also in love with the lodge manager, Adam Vianetti. However, with low self-esteem and a humble future, she's certain she's no match for a guy like him. Fate has other ideas. On a stormy spring night, Jasmine and Adam are kidnapped and forced into each other's arms. Jasmine's not nearly as frightened as she should be. She's had a gun in her face lots of times. Instead she feels warm and wonderful in Adam's embrace. With chains on their wrists and the thunder rolling around them, they ignite a passion to keep them fiery warm. When one of the men returns in the night to set them free, he issues a dire warning. The other kidnapper, Red, is heading east and plans to take Jasmine with him. He says he'll shoot her up with heroin-she's just a street rat to him. Jasmine thinks she has no strength left to fight that battle again. Even though it was the young intern, Kevin, that Jessy was forced to be with during their captivity, it’s Conrad she’s crazy about, and has been since he took over the job as the fisheries crew foreman. After a summer of watching his gorgeous 6’5” body keep a cool distance, Jessy hopes the abduction has opened his eyes. Maybe he'll finally be ready to give a relationship a try.

I can't say that I love this book -- but it was entertaining and would make for a decent companion on a long trip. The premise started out interesting and I was looking forward to some hot action with perhaps a bit of action and suspense thrown in.
