Claiming the Legend
For Lilly Peach staying alive means keeping a low profile, blending in, not being noticed. When she fears having been found by those contracted to kill her, Lilly is sent to a new "safe house" in Legend, Tennessee.
The pristine old fashioned streets and genteel southern hospitality of the town's folks eventually lull Lilly into believing, maybe, just maybe, she can settle in and make a safe and quiet life for
herself. But when Legend's nationally famous high school football coach decides to make her his lady, Lilly is thrown into the spotlight as well, giving those seeking to find and destroy her,
another chance to fulfill their contract.
This title is an ebook novella from the print book/anthology, Finding Home, by Janet Eaves, Magdalena Scott, Jan Scarbrough and Maddie James.

Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. So this eclectic anthology of Halloween stories was a natural choice for me to read. Over all, this diverse group of stories is well written and well put together. I especially enjoyed A Witchy Challenge, The UnHaunted House and A Piece of her Soul. Dracula's Bath is a classic horror. Although a few of the stories have familiar, well-used plots, they are all enj

Allie Winchester is at a loss. Her war-time job has been given to a man. It's almost Christmas, and she's about to be homeless. And she never found the man of her dreams even though she danced her way through World War II with every soldier who passed through Legend, Tennessee.
Just when she thinks all is lost, Allie is offered a job to care for an injured soldier. The position includes an incredible income, a home to live in, a car to drive, and the freedom to decorate as she sees fit. Thinking she has hit on the job of her dreams, Allie dives into preparations for her blinded patient, only to find him mad at the world and irritatingly rude to her.
Once she has gotten over the fear of losing her position, Allie decides to give as good as she gets, only to find their verbal sparring flames more than her anger. Being the good girl she is, Allie is mortified by her reactions to a man she can barely tolerate. Being a young inexperienced woman, Allie finds herself fascinated by those reactions. And once she peels back the layers of George Sterling's anger, Allie finds herself wanting to help him find the light in a world gone dark, without losing her heart in the process.

Janet Eaves takes her readers back to days gone by in this poignant holiday love story. Allie is such an appealing character, so fresh and innocent with just the perfect amount of zing in her communications to the hero. I loved reading about her feelings over her reactions to her patient and how she did not want to jeopardize her job but she couldn't find it in herself to remain completely meek. I love how sh
