The Virgin’s Daughters is sell written, believable, engaging, oh, yes, depressing.  Overall, well worth the read.  Also, this book matches very closely with the actually history of the time.  Of course, dialogue is made up and the motivations are imagined, but as best as I can tell, everything that the characters do actually happened.  Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen, probably was th
