Five men; a father, son, a doctor and two faithful friends in 1861 were caught up in the patriotic tumult of the day and volunteered to serve in their country's cause to help end the abhorrent practice of slavery and reunite the states of America. Upon volunteering they all thought they were embarking on a great adventure for no more than a month or two but soon found themselves caught up in the horrors of a bloody war where no quarter was given. For two years they suffered under adverse living conditions, some of them gave their lives in their country's service and some became so scarred both physically and mentally that they could no longer deal with life. It is their story and meant to solicit thoughts in the readers' mind concerning the fallibility of mankind.

This work of fiction highlights four highly successful women in the business world who have been long time friends. One evening when out together and enjoying a fabulous glass of their favorite wine the topic of conversation turns to the glass ceiling still prevalent in the business world today. They devise a scheme to attempt to break or at least scratch the thickest glass ceiling of them all, that of the priesthood. It is the story of their success or failure and the many obstacles thrown in the path of Father James, (Jane). Does it make a difference? I leave that up to the reader to decide.
