Don't Need a Hero
When cat shifter Petra (aka Pete) becomes the victim of "friendly fire" during the apprehension of a bank robber, panther shifter cop Apollo Jones feels obligated to make sure she's okay. Pete's positive she doesn't need another hero in her life, and Apollo's out to prove her wrong.

Protect & Serve is an erotic shifter romance full of sarcasm and humor. It revolves around Petra , a Himalayan show cat-turned-carpenter, and Apollo, a Florida panther chef-turned-cop slash furniture restorer. I did enjoy the story, but it is book twelve of a series. Since I've never read any of the other stories, I felt I was missing a lot. I'm interested in reading the previous story involving secondary cha
The God's Wife
Hatshepsut is a God’s Wife, a member of a secret political society of Egyptian noblewomen who use whatever it takes for the good of Egypt—money, assassination, even sex. Royal by birth, her entire life is spent in training to be the consort of the Pharaoh, Tutmose.
Despite her love for Senmut, who as a humble scribe is an unacceptable husband, Hati succeeds in winning the Pharaoh’s affections. But when Tutmose dies unexpectedly she is left as Regent of Egypt and pregnant with the dead Pharaoh’s heir.
Akenmose, her husband’s brother, is plotting to kill her and the babe—and to take the throne of Egypt for himself. Hati must protect Egypt against his deadly schemes until her son is old enough to take the throne. With Senmut and the God’s Wives standing behind her, Hati will use every weapon she finds to keep her infant son alive. Will her sacrifices be enough to save Egypt? Or will Akenmose’s schemes succeed despite the power of the God’s Wife?

I’ve read some of Ms. Austin’s novels before, and knew she was a good writer, but the sheer scope and amazing characterization of this novel amazed me. If you love losing yourself in an emotively driven romance, then this is one for you.
Ms. Austin peopled her Egyptian tale with characters I felt I knew, and cared deeply enough about that I was brought to tears when the character of Pharaoh Tu
Dragon's Stone
Jack has more problems than you can shake a wand at. He's the son of the usurper to the throne, an untrained wizard with a powerful gift, a gay dragonrider, and a cryptozoologist in a world full of mythical creatures. Now he's going to school where one of his teachers is a biker turned dragonrider. Men are treated as second-class citizens in Honalee, so this is his one chance to be something other than a stud wizard for the local sorceresses. If that wasn't bad enough, some mythical object called the Dragon's Stone has been stolen. How much do they expect of a reluctant heir to the throne, anyway?

Raised as an orphan in our own world, Jack has recently found out he's the son of the evil king of Honalee. He's also the rider of a gay dragon, who - in his human form - is his lover. He's also an untrained wizard. Now he must go back to the land of Honalee, train at the wizard school and avoid having his father the king find out who he is. There's also a stone in it, but who knows what that's about?
