Wizard's Trap
Laurel always had a thing for sexy, good-looking Gil, and he wanted her, but the time was never right. Now he’s missing and presumed dead. Laurel tries to contact his spirit and succeeds—but she discovers he isn’t a ghost. Instead, he’s a wizard who’s cursed and imprisoned on the astral plane. Communicating with Laurel through his diary, Gil persuades her to recite a spell to restore him to the material plane. Lust ignites between them and they satisfy the desire they’d once denied. But their time together is limited, for the spell’s effects won’t last. A magical talisman entraps Gil, and he can’t destroy it himself. Laurel fears Gil has seduced her only to get free of the curse. She’ll face the risks of magic to save him—and hope their passion can survive the ordeal and grow into love.

Margaret L. Carter’s release, Wizard’s Trap is a wonderfully written paranormal romance that I really liked and I believe that readers will enjoy as well. She has blended her characters and storyline together into an enjoyable combination. Her characters are intelligent, interesting and life-like. The storyline is compelling, tantalizing and perfectly paced. The emotions between Laurel and Gil are explosive a
Song from the Abyss
Alyce always spent her summer break at her aunt’s beach house. It was there that she met Dean—her first love. She thought Dean loved her as much as she loved him. Until the summer when they were eighteen and he vanished from her life. Just gone. No explanation, not even an email.
Alyce tucked away her memories of Dean, though she never forgot him. Three years later, her aunt did something that destroyed their relationship as well. She drugged and used Alyce in an arcane ritual that opened a portal into another dimension.
Now Alyce has inherited the house where she endured that terrifying night. She finds a recording of the eerie music from the dark rite. When she plays it, the portal opens again, and Dean returns. Their passion ignites, more intense than anything Alyce has ever known, but he’s no longer quite human. Dean has spent years in another dimension. Sinuous tentacles are only the most visible mark of his alien transformation. Who is he now? What is he?

She can read minds & emotions. He's a shapeshifter who can't control his animal side during sex. They're neighbors for years, ships passing in the night 'til her sister gets lost in the woods and she seeks him out for help.
I liked the characters and their special powers. The author did a good job of describing how difficult it was for both to grow up not being able to trust others with their abilities.

Very much like a dog, Love Unleashed will lead the readers around for a few interesting laps, offering amusement and even some entertainment, but ultimately, the trails follow the same beaten path. The pace of the story lingers and drags, heavy with repetitions (in both dialogue and situations). Things are slow to happen, with not much development between Stefan Rigatos, man-turned-dog, and Vicki Lindstrom, l
