The Warrior Laird

From talented author Margo Maguire comes the first in a wildly passionate Scottish-set series about siblings who survived a brutal past and who will stop at nothing to claim their birthright-even as they each find breathtaking passion along the way.

Brazen

Lady Christina Fairhaven is devoted to her adoptive family -- and most protective of her wayward brother.

So when battle-scarred and world-weary Captain Gavin Briggs arrives at her cottage bearing shocking news -- that she is the granddaughter of an aged, bad-tempered duke -- Christina is stunned. . . temporarily.

She will not meet the duke who abandoned her when she was a child; Gavin will not receive his significant -- and much needed -- reward. However, should the good Captain agree to help her locate and rescue her endangered sibling, then perhaps. . .

But with a fortune at stake, the road to London is paved with peril. Treachery awaits them. . . not to mention attraction, temptation, and a most unanticipated passion.

To regain his soul, to protect his lady, Gavin must be more than brave. To win his love, Christina must be positively. . . brazen.

Seducing the Governess

From talented author Margo Maguire comes the first in a lush, new "Regency series" about the lost heiresses of a powerful duke, as they find breathtaking passion, love, and fortune.

A proper governess should never...

Assist a handsome stranger, along on an unfamiliar road...unless the rake happens to be her new employer.

Take a position in a crumbling manor...especially if the household staff has been replaced by unruly former soldiers.

Allow her young charge entree to her heart...for once done, it will be impossible to maintain proper distance.

Permit her charge's uncle a breathtaking kiss under a star-lit sky...henceforth she will most certainly lose composure whenever he is near.

And above all, she should never, ever fall completely, irreversibly in love with her employer...for nothing good can possibly come of it.

Seducing the Governess sounded like a different twist on a familiar plot in an overdone Regency market. Unfortunately, I found it was just the same as all the others, however, that said it was still an enjoyable read. It reminded me of a more tame version of Jane Eyre, as in not as dark, but still seductive. The first chapter dragged with backstory as the author setup Mercy’s background. I did like her

The Rogue Prince

The Rogue Prince started out as an interesting tale about vengeance, love, and secret identities. Sadly, it went a bit down hill very quickly. I can't say that I disliked the book--- no, I simply didn't fall head over heals in love with it, nor any of the characters found within its pages. In the end, I found myself unsatisfied, wanting more from the story, more from the romance, and more from the character

Wild
In 1829, a young man - lost in Africa on safari twenty-two years before - is discovered in unexplored lands and returned to his grandmother's estate. He is Anthony Maddox, Earl of Sutton, and he has no interest in staying in England. He doesn’t care about the title he inherited from his father, or the wealth he will have if the House of Lords recognizes him as the true heir. He is acclimated to the Congo. His valley is as close to perfect as any place on earth can be, and he wants to return to his life there. Besides, being abandoned by his father in Africa was enough to make him wary of English society. He cannot trust that he won’t be abandoned and betrayed again by those who claim to care about him.

Grace Hawthorne is the proper young woman who is companion to the dowager countess of Sutton, Anthony’s grandmother. Grace is straight-laced and rigid, and cool propriety has gotten her through some very tough times in her life. As Grace is being courted by a wealthy and proper landowner nearby, Lady Sutton shakes her world by giving her the task of tutoring her grandson. Grace’s assignment is to make him ready to appear before the House of Lords in order to claim his title - a title he doesn’t really want. He is a huge challenge to Grace and everything she believes in, refusing to allow her to let fear rule her life. And if Grace can overcome her own fears, she might also be able to teach Anthony how to trust again.

I really enjoyed this story, although I felt that the premise was a bit too precious at times. I suppose that it’s true when a child is lost after ten years old, it’s possible that he’d still retain some idea of his language and what not – but I found it somewhat hard to believe that Anthony had no trouble with the language or reading and yet had issues with personal space and other so

He arrives in 19th Century England and gets caught up in the defense of a lone woman on a solitary road.
