Connor Grey is a druid consultant for the Boston PD on their "strange" cases. So his world is turned upside down when he suddenly finds that he himself has become one. Wrongly accused of a terrorist attack that rocked the city to its core, Connor evades arrest by going underground, where rumors of war are roiling. Boston has become a battleground and Connor Grey has a ring side seat for the action. Accused of a terrorist attack, he goes into hiding. Uncertain Allies is the fifth book in the Connor Grey series. I have to admit I have not read the other four books in the series. I liked Uncertain Allies because it moved fast and I didn't get bogged down in tedious back story or descriptions. As the violence escalates, Connor is determined to stop it-with help from one of the most dangerous beings of Faerie. Even if it means unleashing the darkness that burns within him.

Connor and Murdock are neck deep, pun intended, in an investigation with a murdered Dead berserker who lost his head. That feeds into the gathering tension between humans and the inhabitants of the Weird which is about to explode at any m
Unquiet Dreams
Fueled by a mysterious new drug, Celtic fairies and Teutonic elves battle for turf and power-with humans caught in the middle. As the body count rises, Connor Grey uncovers a vast conspiracy that threatens to destroy not only the city, but the world.

I have read only one Dresden Files book by Jim Butcher (unlike my husband-big fan). In Unquiet Dreams, sequel to Unshapely Things, you can see a similarity.
Connor Grey is a druid, once powerful now diminished, who consults for the Boston Police Department. Connor resides in an area of Boston known as the Weird, home to magical folk. He once was a power in the Guild until a suspect elf put him in the hospita
