The Look of Love
The Associated Press calls her “one of the most talented storytellers around.” Now, New York Times bestselling author Mary Jane Clark brings readers a delicious new mystery. The Look of Love Piper Donovan accepts when the owner of Elysium, an exclusive spa and plastic surgery center, offers her an all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles to create a dazzling and unique wedding cake. The job also gives Piper the time and distance she needs to sort out her feelings for handsome FBI agent Jack Lombardi. The ultra-luxurious spa caters to the rich and famous in need of a little “refreshing”—a nip here, a tuck there, a little Botox, a little detox. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, Elysium seems picture-perfect: the grounds, the staff, even the guests. But no sooner does Piper arrive than a guest is brutally murdered in one of the private bungalows. Someone, it seems, wants to make sure Elysium’s beautiful director, Jillian Abernathy, never gets to walk down the aisle. Piper soon discovers that beneath the glamorous surface of this idyllic oasis lies an ugly truth—and a cold-blooded plan for murder.

THE LOOK OF LOVE adheres to the tried and true formulas of MaryJane Clark’s other novelist relatives: Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark. It’s a well-paced novel with some humorous aspects, great character development, and a good plot (although, I confess, I figured out the murderer early on). MJ Clark’s take on murder at a plush, glitzy Hollywood spa is fresh, and her heroine, Piper Donovan, is lik
To Have and to Kill
Piper Donovan never imagined that decorating wedding cakes could be so dangerous! A struggling actress with no immediate prospects and a recently broken engagement, Piper moves back in with her parents to take stock of her life. She steps tentatively into the family bakery business, and finds herself agreeing to create the wedding cake for the acclaimed star of a daytime television drama. But soon, someone close to the bride-to-be is horribly murdered and it seems that somebody is ruthlessly determined to stop the wedding.
With the help of her former neighbor, Jack, a handsome FBI agent with a soft spot for the gorgeous cake-maker, Piper moves closer to the truth. As she narrows in on a suspect, Piper realizes that it's hotter in the kitchen than she may be able to handle.
Like Piper Donovan, New York Times Bestselling author Mary Jane Clark has a mother who made customized cakes for the neighborhood kids when Mary Jane was growing up. After writing 12 media thrillers and a career at CBS News, the author is currently taking cake decorating classes herself, having fun as she works on her baking skills, and concocting her next novel.

Her life seems to be up in the air at this point not only because of her not having any work, but also because her fianc

This is a very intriguing book. It shows, definitely, how the OTHER HALF lives. Most of the action takes place in Tuxedo Park, NY, a gated community with it's own police force and many "beautiful" people.
Eliza Blake is a co-anchor of a morning television show called KEY to America. She is a widow with a young daugher named Janie; they live together in a little town beside Tuxedo Park with Mrs. Gar

The book opens with an intense scene that may be difficult for many readers to stomach. But do not let that stop you from reading this wonderful tale. When Day Breaks is a suspense set in the exciting “KEY TV” world created by Mary Jane Clark.
Constance Young is leaving “KEY to America” for a rival station. And to say people are happy to see her go is an understatement. Consta
