Nicki J Markus is 28 years old. She was born in England, but now lives in Adelaide, South Australia with her fianc‚. She has loved both reading and writing from a young age and is also a keen linguist, having studied several foreign languages. She has completed a BA (hons) English with French from the University of Greenwich, London and a PGDip in Translation from the University of the West of England, Bristol. She is currently working towards a Diploma in Editing and a Higher Diploma in Publishing.
Nicki J Markus launched her writing career in early 2011. She writes a variety of fiction, especially paranormal, and some of her work has been published by Wicked Nights Publishing and Silver Publishing (where she also works as an editor).
In her spare time, Nicki enjoys many other pursuits such as: reading, music, theatre, cinema, photography, sketching, cross stitch and web-design. She also has a keen interest in history, folklore and mythology, pen-palling and travel.

This was an interesting story for what it was--about 33pages. It lacked however a cohesiveness to its narrative. Markus drew us from Point A to Point B and onwards with very little fleshing out. Much of what we do learn about the world or Laoise is specifically told to us. We're told that Laoise repeatedly fails at her exams and this is her last chance, but she'd rather be running around outside. In one
