Bachelorette: Zombie Edition

I'm sorry but this story really didn't do it for me. There were so many things wrong with the tale, it’s hard to know where to begin.

First off, the cast of characters went from mildly amusing to ludicrous. Zombies, little people, clowns, sounds interesting until you put them together, but they were just the start. The characters were not believable and not actually likable even with the large amount of inner dialogue, most of which just made me gnash my teeth. The actual interactions between the characters was stilted and unnatural while some of the scene breaks stopped mid action and then resumed in a new spot leaving me wondering what the heck happened.

As to the romance part of this story...what romance? The attraction of Shelby to the zombie right off the bat even though he's literally decaying and grey seemed farfetched. And it just got worse from there. I found the romance elements in this story to be more mocking than anything else. Personally, I think the romance tag should be dropped from this piece.

Then there were the many, many comparisons to famous people, places and things. The nonstop spewing of 'like' drew away from the clever ones, a shame because the author did have a few that were well placed. The whole thing kind of reminded me of a bad Saw parody.

At 290 pages, the author did put a lot of effort in, but I'm afraid it just didn't hit the spot with me. Perhaps it will with someone else.
