The Marshal's Prize
Abandoned as a baby, federal marshal Mitchell Garret doesn't know his family history, or even his given name. But he's made an impressive identity for himself: hero, protector, Marine, and most recently, private investigator. Which is how he falls into Heidi Norris's life. Someone's been stealing secrets from Heidi's family-owned doughnut dynasty, SweetSpuds, and she suspects it's a relative. Before Mitch returns to the Marshals Service, he'll take this one last case. Besides, going undercover will get Mitch closer to Heidi and her lovable son, Zack. Temporarily, that is. Mitch is ready to reclaim his life, and that means finding his real family…in Florida. Only for this P.I., what he really wants is in the last place he expects.
The SEAL's Promise
Private Investigator Chaz Roylance lives by a code of honor: always be the protector, always tell the truth and never get involved with a client. But from the moment he meets Lacey Pomeroy, the former navy SEAL knows he's in deep. With death threats aimed at her and her three-year-old daughter, Lacey needs the P.I.'s protection…not romance. Faking a whirlwind engagement to draw the stalker out only confuses their arrangement. How can Chaz resist such an intriguing woman and the red-haired angel who calls him her hero? Together, Chaz and Lacey set out to unmask the threat. But when an identity's revealed, will their pretend family become real…or will the fantasy be torn apart?

After reading the first few paragraphs, I knew I would enjoy the book. The beginning really drew me into the story. I was not disappointed. The hero and heroine were very well defined and the interaction between them was very believable. The story line was also believable and held my interest throughout the book. I know that authors are sometimes limited in number of words or pages depending on the genre

This book has everything - mystery, suspense, and romance. The fact that it is not a lengthy book is also good. It's a fast read and kept my interest throughout.
Gabi Rafferty and her daughter are on the run from an abusive ex. She flees to the one man whom she loves for protection and support. There are so many characters involved in this story that you have to really read the book to understand the r

I would give this story one more star than is allowed, I felt it was that good. This story not only had all I was anticipating, but some things I wasn't.
I love a book with a cowboy lead, and if it involves a rodeo all the better. This story had both, along with my need for a happily ever after. I wasn't disappointed there either. And the sensual tension had me on edge. I was hoping for Paula to use "th
