I have an issue with weak female characters. There are too many in the world. They make me look bad. It starts off with the mother wanting to get a gift for her son's, but being upset because the father can't be there to help make the decision (translation, make the decision for her). Things begin to go wrong after she makes the decision herself (I don't know, maybe punishment for daring to actually make

During a bowling tournament, Jasper Drew, Kitsville's crime fighting cat, must save the stolen prize money. The Kitsville Caper is an ultra short story (less than 1,000 words) that I read it in five minutes. It is dogged by poor writing. The author narrates too much, tells and doesn't show. I know this is a children's story, but the same basic writing rules apply. Also the visual of the cat's coughing up

This is a very short novella and a very fast read. The main focus of the story is whether or not one should be pushed into marriage or a romantic relationship based on one’s ethnicity. This is a tough subject to cover and I do want to applaud the author for her efforts.   Cheyanne Kai, a native of tribal heritage, is at odds with her father over her romantic choices. Her father wants her to marry

The Rise and Fall of Keidon is a fantasy novel. That being said, I still found it quite difficult to suspend belief and get into the story.
