Colby and the Little Wolf
From the moment they met, there was an undeniable attraction between Colby and Tobias. Even though months had passed since they’d seen each other, the sparks haven’t dimmed one bit. When they finally met again, it was only natural that they end up horizontal on one of the coalition’s more popular conference tables. Just as they are sure there is no doubt they are destined together, their older brothers intervene and tear them apart. Not because Colby is a Lion shifter. It’s not because Tobias is a Wolf shifter either. The reason for their split can be summed down to two words—they’re runts. And in the shifter world, runt equals weak and vulnerable. It’s only natural that their older siblings are overprotective. The one thing that their brothers fail to see is that Colby and Tobias are determined to be together, even if that means defying their elders. Will everybody finally see how perfect Colby and his little Wolf are for each other? Or will the pair have to resort to drastic measures to have any kind of happiness?

After spending ten years in the hellish paranormal prison, for a crime he didn’t commit, he is teetering on the thin line between dark and light, especially since it’s the holiday season and he’s being reminded of all he lost. The last thing he expects to encounter at the club is a female who is innocent to taboo pleasures. Drawn to her beauty, Dante knows he must claim her. He also knows he wants Markus to join in the encounter. Dahlia yearns to be with the two mysterious males, but will she be able to handle their carnal desires?

Status Dramaticus
Newbie paramedic Dakota knows that the other EMS workers like to call him by his nickname, Status Dramaticus. But it’s not his fault, honestly. Okay, so maybe he got into a huge, overblown breakup with one of his boyfriends while they were on the job. And maybe he’d crashed the rig once or twice or…so, but that could have happened to anybody. The exploding oxygen tank incident was another innocent mistake, too, so why do his co-workers keep hassling him? All Dakota wants to do is make a living and a new life for himself in Flint. When Charlie is transferred to the Flint Police Department, he’s ready for a change of scenery. While he liked his old city, he was ready to leave all the drama from his family and exes behind. So when he finds himself strangely fascinated by the most dramatic guy in all of Flint, Charlie is both annoyed and at a loss. Then Dakota finds himself in trouble and Charlie knows he has no choice but to help. Will they survive long enough to find true love, or will the drama meet a sad, sudden end?
Sacrifice and Blood
Because of his turbulent childhood, Kale tries to make safe life choices. He stays by his twin’s side, serves his coven leader and never sleeps with the wrong kinds of guys…until he finds himself drawn to the most unsafe man in the world—fellow warlock Ian. Once, Ian was part of the most dreaded coven known to the supernatural world. Although he left the coven at the same time his brother and cousin did, Ian still feels as if those years surrounded by evil stole all the good from him. Many fear him, and Ian likes it that way for he never wants to be seen as weak or vulnerable. He’s confused when he falls for a quiet warlock with a noble spirit, but that doesn’t stop Ian from making a great sacrifice in order to save Kale…a sacrifice that leaves Ian weaker and more vulnerable than ever. Now, Kale must protect Ian from the enemies hunting them. As death draws closer, Kale discovers that maybe the safest choice isn’t the best. Still, will he be strong enough to save both of them, or will they become the next causality of the war?
Gage's Awakening
Hawk shifter Gage has never felt like he fit in—not when he was a teen struggling to survive on the streets and not now that he’s part of the coalition. But he puts on a happy face to hide his feelings and his battles with his inner demons. The only thing that brings Gage any happiness is Branson, a blind Lion shifter who is sexy as hell and smarter the rest of the coalition put together. Too bad Branson has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with Gage. Branson has no idea why a hot young Hawk sifter would want damaged goods like him. For years, the rest of the coalition has ignored Branson and he’s gotten used to the solitude, making Gage’s attentions particularly unsettling. Despite his misgivings, Branson finds himself becoming more and more drawn to Gage. Then a shocking secret from Gage’s past is revealed—a secret that could destroy not only the Hawk, but the whole coalition. Branson finds himself facing the biggest dilemma of all—does he choose the coalition or the man who’s managed to capture his heart?

I liked Gage’s Awakening overall. The key points, for me, are how Gage's and Branson's relationship develops over the course of the story, the secrets Gage learns that could (very well) be the key to some of his experiences, and how he interacts with his coworkers and friends (and they with him).
While I did like the story, I do have a couple minor quibbles with it. Gage's Awakening can be read as a standa

I think that, at the heart of the story, it is about, well, heart and caring. Both Tanner and Ricky have issues in their lives, emotional and physical, and work their way through them and around them.
I liked reading how both Ben and Tanner worked on 'nagging' Ricky into taking better care of himself and how Ricky's family welcomed Tanner into theirs.
I would have liked to see the relationship develop over

I enjoyed reading SHADES OF THE PAST very much. The author's writing style, the subject matter, and the characters themselves have a lot to do with that.
Ms. Hecht has a talent for making the reader (or at least this reader) see the scene as if the reader was right there with the characters and feel what they are feeling. I like that about any of the reading I do and she certainly does it with flair.

Best friends in high school, Marc and Sammy each harbored a secret attraction for the each other, but neither dared act on their feelings for fear of ruining their friendship. Finally one night during the summer after their senior year, they gave into their desires and had a passionate encounter. Well…as passionate as one can get when one of them had a dog bite, the other an allergic reaction to strawberries and both had a bad case of poison ivy. But just as they get together, Marc and Sammy were torn apart when life and family obligations interfere.
It’s been ten years and Sammy never got over losing Marc. Even though he has a successful career as a social worker at the local GLBT youth center, Sammy has always felt as if a piece of himself is missing. Then one day when he least expects it, Marc shows up at the center, wanting to film a documentary. Sammy is shocked and hurt that Marc has stayed away so long only to turn up when he needs something.
What Sammy doesn’t know is Marc had a good reason for staying away. One that could not only destroy their lives, but the love they once had for each other and any choice of a future together.

Nobody realizes better than Shane that he has no real future. As a Leopard, he's destined to live alone and be reviled by his fellow feline shifters. Instead of letting that hurt him, Shane just throws himself into his work as the coalition's top assassin. A job that his breeding makes him perfect for. He tells himself that he doesn't need anyone else--that he's fine living a solitary life. Then one, brief encounter with a bratty, Panther shifter named, Trevor, changes everything. Now all Shane can think about is the Panther and how to get the man back in his bed. The only problem is Trevor hasn't given Shane so much as a second glance since their one time together. A situation that frustrates and intrigues Shane even more.
Trevor has always enjoyed playing the field. With so many sexy temptations at his disposal, he doesn't see why he should have to settle for the same warm body in his bed night after night. While the sex with Shane had been great, Trevor is determined to put the encounter behind him. A task that's not as easy as it would seem. Not when every night he continues to dream of the Leopard. Or how, whenever they're in the same room, Trevor can't stop himself from wanting to reach out and caress the Leopard. Trevor knows that there can never be anything between them and resolves to put his desires behind him.
Then Shane needs help on one of his assignments and he turns to Trevor. The mission proves more dangerous than either one realizes. They soon find themselves fighting for their lives. Will they be able to learn to trust each other in time to save themselves, or will their past doubts destroy them?

Not only does Dylan fall into every one of those categories, but he's also homeless and heartbroken as well and all before he's celebrated his twenty-first birthday. Even though his older brother, Lucas, let him move in and found him a job at the local EMS company, Dylan has never felt lower. He's been hurt and betrayed by everyone he loved, with the lone exception of Lucas and Dylan vows he'll never open himself up to the pain that comes with caring about others. Just when he thought nobody could tug at his heartstrings anymore, along comes a young, shy, dark-haired paramedic named Dylan. Betrayed and almost murdered by his first true love, Nathaniel wants nothing to do with any female angel. Which is why when Chief Archangel Michael sends him on mission, Nathaniel picks the one female to be on his team that he knows he's safe with, Jules. For years Jules has lived with his family and, while he's grown protective of her, he's never been attracted to her. To him she's just one of the guys, a pal, a fellow angel warrior, certainly not someone he is sexually attracted to.
Forced to leave her family behind in Heaven when the angel warriors rebelled, Jules has always kept her emotions closely guarded. While she has watched all her friends find their mates, she has been happy to be unattached, devoting herself fully to the angel warrior cause. When she finds out she has to go with Nathaniel on a mission, she doesn't even think twice. While many other angels fear him because he's so broody and intense, she knows deep down he has a soft side.
To their horror, the more time they spend together, the more they find themselves drawn to each other. It couldn't come at a worse time either. They have to fight a demon uprising that could end the world. Plus, they have to contend with the third member of their team, a freshly trained angel warrior healer, who is terrified of demons and can't even use her weapon without accidently harming innocents.
Then something happens that threatens not only the future of all humanity, but the angel warriors as well. Will Nathaniel and Jules be able to stop it? Or will they lose everything--even each other and what could have been?
