Author: Theresa Crater | Website

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Theresa Crater grew up in the middle of the civil rights movement, an experience that left her believing anything is possible. At the age of seven, Theresa Crater announced to her parents she was going to be a writer. They promptly told her no one could make a living doing that. But like most kids, she didn’t listen.

Theresa has published two books in the Power Places series, an Egyptian contemporary fantasy Under the Stone Paw and Beneath the Hallowed Hill, set in Avalon. She’s also published several short stories, most recently “Bringing the Waters” in The Aether Age: Helios, poetry and a baker’s dozen of literary criticism.

Currently, she teaches writing and literature in Denver, but her first serious job was teaching meditation. Theresa’s fiction blends myth, metaphysics and just plain good adventure. Her husband, Stephen Mehler, is an independent Egyptologist who has three books out and leads tours to Egypt.

Theresa lives with Stephen, their two cats, in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and all its wildlife.

Under The Stone Paw

A forgotten family legacy.
Six crystal keys.
One shot at unlocking the secrets beneath the Sphinx.

Anne Le Clair, a successful, young attorney, has managed to remain free from her family’s gothic past—until now. When she inherits her murdered Aunt’s antique necklace however, she finds no escape from its secrets. Under the Stone Paw is a thrill ride from the upper crust of New York society to the forbidden tunnels underneath the Sphinx, from a time before Jesus and Mary Magdalene sought to free humanity to our own time when a shadowy consortium of powerful individuals threaten to control it.

Katherine Kurtz, author of the Adept series, says “ . . . one of the best esoteric novels of the past decade. Crater knows her way around Egypt and its mysteries. Evil Illuminati, ancient artifacts, and conspiracies abound. Surpasses the Da Vinci Code."

Beneath the Hallowed Hill

The Illuminati have opened a hole in time, and now Atlantis will fall and the water of Avalon will run dry.

Anne Le Clair travels to Glastonbury with her fiancée, Egyptologist and mystic Michael Levy, to investigate a house she has inherited from a mysterious aunt...only to find trouble waiting. One of Avalon's sacred twin springs is failing. Together, Anne and Michael try to restore the water flow, but discover there is much more at stake: the Illuminati master Alexander Cagliostro has activated an ancient crystal tower, tearing a hole in time that threatens so much more than one sacred spring.

Meanwhile, in ancient Atlantis, Megan, priestess of the Crystal Matrix Chamber, flees the destruction of her world carrying with herself a vital artifact.

This is a complicated story with convoluted, intersecting storylines rich with mystical phenomena, and steeped in ancient lore and magic. In the present, Anne Le Clair and Michael are separated soon after arriving in Avalon, for what was to have been a quiet month of relaxation and rejuvenation, after Michael's friend and mentor is murdered. Meanwhile, Alexander Cagliostro, driven to madness, causes a terribl
