Ocean Beach

Wendy Wax, author of the “warm [and] wry” (St. Petersburg Times) Ten Beach Road, returns with a novel of three women in need of a second chance…or is it a third?

Unlikely friends Madeline, Avery and Nicole have hit some speed bumps in their lives, but when they arrive in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood, they are all hoping for a do-over. Literally. They’ve been hired to bring a once-grand historic house back to its former glory on a new television show called Do-Over. If they can just get this show off the ground, Nikki would get back on her feet financially, Avery could restart her ruined career, and Maddie would have a shot at keeping her family together.

At least, that’s the plan – until the women realize that having their work broadcast is one thing, having their personal lives play out on TV is another thing entirely. Soon they are struggling to hold themselves, and the project, together. With a decades-old mystery—and the hurricane season—looming, the women are forced to figure out just how they’ll weather life’s storms…

Ten Beach Road

Another perfect beach read from the author of The Accidental Bestseller.

Madeline, Avery, and Nikki are strangers to each other, but they have one thing in common. They each wake up one morning to discover their life savings have vanished, along with their trusted financial manager- leaving them with nothing but co-ownership of a ramshackle beachfront house.

Throwing their lots in together, they take on the challenge of restoring the historic property. But just as they begin to reinvent themselves and discover the power of friendship, secrets threaten to tear down their trust-and destroy their lives a second time.

For three women, waking up never seemed devastating before. Now, each one of them is faced with the same crisis: their life savings has vanished along with their trusted financial adviser. Strangers in one sense, yet kindred spirits in others, these three women: Madeline, Avery, and Nikki are sent on the journey of their lives. Author Wendy Wax wrote a near perfect summertime read that is a must for any bea

Magnolia Wednesdays

From the author of The Accidental Bestseller comes a wonderfully entertaining book about what to do when life comes at you full swing.

At forty-one, Vivian Armstrong Gray's life as an investigative journalist is crumbling. Humiliated after taking a bullet in her backside during an exposé, Vivi learns that she's pregnant, jobless, and very hormonal. This explains why she says 'yes' to a dreadful job covering suburban living back home in Georgia, a column she must write incognito.

Down South, it's her sister's ballroom dance studio that becomes her undercover spot where she learns about the local life-and where unexpected friendships develop. As she digs up her long buried roots, she starts to wonder if life inside the picket fence is really so bad after all.

Magnolia Wednesdays is a winner -- brilliant with acerbic, biting wit and yet it's funny without ever descending into being nasty or tasteless. The relationships portrayed could have been lifted out of the lives of everyday people we know, and yet the drama, the pathos, the conflict and suspense just doesn't let up. She highlights the worst and best of mother-daughter and sister-sister relationships, bringing

The Accidental Bestseller
Once upon a time four aspiring authors met at a writers’ conference. Ten years later they’re still friends, veterans of the dog-eat-dog New York publishing world.

Molly St. James is a workaholic whose novels support her and her husband’s lavish lifestyle. Tanya Mason juggles two jobs, two kids, and a difficult mother. Faye Truett is the wife of a famous televangelist and the author of best-selling inspirational romances, no one would ever guess her explosive secret. Kendall Aim’s once-promising career is on the skids – as is her marriage. Her sales have fallen, her new editor can barely feign interest in her work – and her husband is cheating.

Under pressure to meet her next deadline, Kendall holes up in a mountain cabin to confront a blank page and blanker future. But her friends won’t let her face this struggle alone. They collaborate on a novel none of them could write by herself, using their own lives as fodder, assuming no one will discover the truth behind their words.

No one is more surprised than they are when the book becomes a runaway bestseller. But within success comes scrutiny and scandal. Now all bets are off….as these four best friends suddenly realize how little they’ve truly known each other.

This was a truly enjoyable book. Not only was the friendship between the women lovely to read about, I also enjoyed the insight into the eyes of an author's woes. Fascinating to read about what these four women wrote about and how who they were shaped what they wrote and vice versa. It seems that a woman can run from anything, but her own mind. Wendy Wax brings the women and their lives to life and it's easy
