Hello Amber,

Thanks for joining me today on Night Owl Romance.

Tammie King of NOR: To get us started can you please start by telling us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

Amber Benson: My first solo novel, Death's Daughter, is coming out at the end of Feb. It's the first in a 3 book series, so I have my plate full with the next two of installments. Tammie King of NOR: Could you please tell us a little about yourself?

Amber Benson: I'am an actor/filmmaker/novelist. I spent three years on a television show called Buffy The Vampire Slayer and it was through a connection I made while working on the show with novelist, Chris Golden, that I started writing comic books and prose. I have made three feature films including my latest that I co-directed with Adam Busch called, Drones. I just try and keep as busy as possible--especially because the busier I am, the better shot I have at paying my bills.

Tammie King of NOR: If you could be one of the characters from this book - Who would you be? And why?

Amber Benson: I would be one of the Attack Gopi . Gopi are Hindu milkmaids that follow the God Krishna around. I took license and made them a little more "intense" in Death's Daughter.

Tammie King of NOR: Who or what influenced you when you wrote this book? Did you have a CD, Songs, environment, etc?

Amber Benson: I like to write in coffee shops. Usually it's me and about twenty-five other folks working on their screenplays since I live in LA. I actually listened to the cd "Correatown" by Angela Correa. It was the soundtrack to the book.

Tammie King of NOR: Can you please give us a sneak peek into the book?

Amber Benson: Well, it's the hero's journey told from the female perspective and then updated to a more urban, contemporary environment.

Tammie King of NOR: Please tell us what you have planned next?

Amber Benson: I'am working on the next two books in the series and I just finished a middle grade book for Alladin.

Tammie King of NOR: What kind of research did you do for this book? Did you enjoy the research process?

Amber Benson: I did more research on the fashion aspects of the book. I kind of already knew a bit more about mythology and religion, but I definitely did a bunch more research for that stuff, too. I really like researching, but I tend to get distracted and end up learning way more about something than I intended to.

Tammie King of NOR: What would you like to tell your readers?

Amber Benson: I just hope they enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Tammie King of NOR: Do you belong to a critique group? If so, how does this help or hinder you?

Amber Benson: I have some friends that I share work with, but not a critique group per say. I find that it can be very helpful to get the opinions of people that you trust.

Tammie King of NOR: Thanks for joining us again. Before you go please tell our readers how they can get your books and how to keep abreast of your work. Do you have a website, newsletter, etc.

Amber Benson: We have a website for the book at: http://www.deathsdaughter.com. The book will be available online at amazon and barnes and noble and in your local bookstores.

Tammie King of NOR: Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books?

Amber Benson: Well, the second book in the Death's Daughter series deals with Egyptian mythology.

Tammie King of NOR: What would be the best way for readers contact you? Do you have a website? Email address? MySpace site? Blog? Message Board? Group?

Amber Benson: I can be found at:
