Hello Roxanne,

Thanks for joining me today on Night Owl Romance.

Tammie King of NOR: To get us started can you please start by telling us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

Roxanne Rhoads: In October 2009 I have a novella being released by Eternal Press. The story is Eternal Desire, set in New Orleans during Halloween. A paranormal researcher has followed her ghostly dream vampire around the world and now he has led her to New Orleans to take part in the Halloween festivities. While searching for her elusive vampire she encounters a handsome stranger and begins a torrid affair. She ends up torn between her dream lover and her very real lover though both are virtual strangers.

Tammie King of NOR: Could you please tell us a little about yourself?

Roxanne Rhoads: I am a wife and mother of three which takes up most of my time. Whenever I am not doing one of the many roles that being a wife and mother require of me (i.e. cook, laundress, housekeeper, personal shopper, secretary, accountant and general household CEO, domestic diva, and my husband's personal sex goddess) my world revolves around words. I live to write and love to read. I write as much as I can everyday even if it is just a blog post or product review. I even have my own book review site dedicated to paranormal book reviews, Fang-tastic Books.

Tammie King of NOR: If you could be one of the characters from this book - Who would you be? And why?

Roxanne Rhoads: In some ways I would love to be LizBeth, to have the freedom to travel around the world would be quite amazing. And the hot, sexy vampire lover wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Tammie King of NOR: Who or what influenced you when you wrote this book? Did you have a CD, Songs, environment, etc?

Roxanne Rhoads: I absolutely love New Orleans. I don't know if it started with Anne Rice's vampires or if there were other books before I read Interview with a Vampire but after I had the chance to visit I have always wanted to return. Even the devastation that Katrina left behind has not dimmed the true magic of New Orleans. The city itself is as immortal as the vampires often portrayed to live there.

Tammie King of NOR: Please tell us what you have planned next?

Roxanne Rhoads: I am always working on some erotic romance stories whether shorts, novellas or full novels. Ideas and characters are always swirling in my mind and bleeding ink onto the paper or creating worlds on the screen. I am always working on some stage of a story or two...or ten. LOL.

Tammie King of NOR: What kind of research did you do for this book? Did you enjoy the research process?

Roxanne Rhoads: I pulled up maps of New Orleans and a travel guide to make sure I got street names and hotel names correct. I also researched all of the Halloween festivities that New Orleans puts on... it really is like a second Mardi Gras almost.

Tammie King of NOR: Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books?

Roxanne Rhoads: In December Insatiable will be available through EternalPress.ca. Insatiable is about a young woman who can not control her need for sex, she just has to have and finally finds and outlet for her need when she leaves her small town behind and moves to the city where she finds a swinging sex club and a man who is more like her than she orginally understands. He holds the key to her controlling and satisfying her need. Insatiable is a very hot, hot, hot and steamy read. Probably the hottest I've written so far with lots and lots of sex but the element of romance is still in there.

Tammie King of NOR: When did you first decide to submit your work? Please, tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step?

Roxanne Rhoads: I became a published author in grade school when my first poems and stories were published in local newspapers, magazines and school publications but I didn't start working professionally as a writer until 2005 when I had grown weary of the many jobs I had tried and not felt satisfied with. Words were my first love and my best freinds were books. It was something I had to come back to. So finally in 2005 I began to take my writing seriously and start submitting to publishers.

Tammie King of NOR: What was your first published work and when was it published?

Roxanne Rhoads: My first story was published by Tit-elation.com titled Crimson. That gave me the guts to send out more work and my next story The Carpet Cleaner was accepted by Playgirl magazine. Since then everything I have written, with publication in mind, has been published somewhere.

Tammie King of NOR: Do you outline your books or just start writing?

Roxanne Rhoads: It depends on the work. Most of the time I just start writing. I let the story and characters develop on there own. When I do sit down and try to outline and plan everything it just gets changed as I write so I often feel it is a waste of time.

Tammie King of NOR: Is there a genre of book you would like to write but haven't yet?

Roxanne Rhoads: I would love to write an authentic historical romance but I haven't even begun to tackle that yet.
