A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Aemelia
Lady Elinor Standon is certain that marrying a Duke would solve her problems. Who else would be powerful enough to stand up against her nasty step-father? But when she meets a dashing solicitor, her plans are thrown for a loop. Even as she hires him to determine her best candidate, she can't help but be drawn to him.
James Tremont, 9th Duke of Pakerton, can't believe the tangle he's gotten himself into. The staid and fastidious duke does NOT do anything ill-mannered or impulsive. Yet one look at the beauty in front of him and he's agreeing to do or be anything she requests...especially once he sees his name is not in even in the running of possible marriageable contenders. He knows that he can convince her of his worth, though it would probably be easier if he could confess his true identity, but now he's sunk to deep into the role, how can he reveal his identity without pushing Elinor away?
