A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Aemelia
As the granddaughter of Europe's most illustrious courtesans, Maybelle de Maitenon has hardly led an ordinary life. While most young ladies are taught musical and other socially accepted arts, Maybelle has been learning the art of love. Maybelle has one dream, to be independent and travel to Egypt, but before she can do this, her grandmother falls ill and asks her one small favor, a favor she cannot refuse. She must teach at her grandmother's new school the School of Gallantry. She will instruct a small class of gentlemen on how to satisfy a woman. Edmund Worthington, the Duke of Rutherford, has been socially ruined by a scandal caused by his father's lust. He wants to keep himself and his family far from anymore cruel gossip. Though after a garden rendezvous with Maybelle, he is willing to let his guard down, and soon enrolls into the School of Gallantry. Maybelle is not sure how to handle her new student, she really wants to submit to his seductive gaze, but will she give up her independence for love? Can he stand to put himself and his family through another scandal caused by an affair of the heart? What a spectacular debut novel! Delilah Marvelle has created a fascinating tale with an intensely passionate and captivating cast. The dialog was popping with witty banter and intelligent, well thought out characters. I loved Ms. Marvelle's blend of humor and passion throughout this incredibly sexy story. I liked how Maybelle knew she wanted to experience passion and I though the struggle between her want of independence and her desire for Edmund, along with his efforts to win her were well written. I loved Edmund's fellow students, they all have a mystery as to why they've enrolled and I look forward to really finding out what each of them are training for. They all show signs of being great heroes with intriguing characteristics and plots to work with. I look forward to more of Maybelle's grandmother and her teachings; she was an absolute delight to read. I was well and truly hooked into this series and ardently await the continuing books of the students of the School of Gallantry.

Book Blurb for Mistress of Pleasure
Granddaughter of a renowned courtesan, Maybelle de Maitenon has no interest in her grandmother's school in London where gentlemen receive instruction -- in the art of love and seduction. Her only desire in life is to remain indepedent, free from men and the shackles of marriage. But when Maybelle's grandmother falls ill, forcing Maybelle to take over the operation of the school, she quickly discovers that men are in fact creatures of habit and simply need to be properly re-educated. Then Edmund Worthington, the Duke of Rutherford dares to enroll, looking to alter not only her lesson plans, but her very heart....
