A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Danya

Lady Anna Blacknall knows that something is missing from her life, but the rounds of teas, balls, rides in the park, and parties do nothing to fill the longing. It isn't until she sees a face from the past, one from a dark and dangerous time, that she feels a spark of excitement and connection. Conlan McTeer, the reclusive Duke of Adair, has come to Dublin because of the campaigning against the Union with England. He never expected that his struggle against England's hold on Ireland would result in him seeing "her" again, though memories of her have haunted his dreams for ages now. Society's rules and religious differences dictate that Anna and Conlan can never be together, but their instant and passionate attraction argues differently. When outside forces threaten Anna's life, can Conlan save her in time? Can these two proud Irish hearts bend and become one?

"Duchess of Sin" by Laurel McKee is the second in her Daughters of Erin trilogy. "Countess of Scandal" was not my favorite book but this one has more than changed my mind. With interesting characters, intriguing plots, witty dialogue, Irish history and steamy romance weaved together, this book was a fun, fast-paced read that I couldn't put down. I will be putting down the publication date of the final book on my calendar, eagerly awaiting to see what happens next to the Blacknall sisters.
