A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Danya
Rosalind March knew that she had no right to ask for Captain Chase Eversea's help after their attraction to each other five years ago resulted in her husband transferring the captain to another regiment. After being widowed, Rosalind was content to lead a quiet country life, far from war and all the excitement and danger that goes along with it. But when Rosalind's sister had disappeared from Newgate Prision after being arrested for shoplifting, Rosalind came to London, determined to find her, and Chase was her best bet. Chase Eversea had spent the last five years putting his attraction for Rosalind behind him, but all it took was one whiff of her rose perfume to bring it all back. The two are quickly pulled into a search that leads to a quiet museum with dark secrets, puppets that aren't as cute and innocent as they seem, and an attraction that could easily destroy them both. Will Rosalind be able to find her sister before it's too late, will Chase be able to forget the past, will they both work their way together for future happiness?
Julie Anne Long's latest novel is a superb work, weaving steamy romance with dangerous intrigue, sprinkled with humor and witty dialogue. All the characters, secondary as well as the main characters, are well-developed, with layered storylines that keep the plot hopping and the reader interested. I will definetely be picking up her previous books and looking forward to her next. For any fan of historical romance, this is a must read!!!

Book Blurb for Since the Surrender
A man of action. . .
Fearless. Loyal. Brilliant. Ruthless. Bold words are always used to describe English war hero Captain Chase Eversea, but another word unfortunately plays a role in every Eversea's destiny: trouble. And trouble for Chase arrives in the form of a mysterious message summoning him to a London rendezvous . . . where he encounters the memory of his most wicked indiscretion in the flesh: Rosalind March—the only woman he could never forget.
A Woman of Passion. . .
Five years ago, the reckless, charming beauty craved the formidable Captain's attention. But now Rosalind is a coolly self-possessed woman, and desire is the last thing on her mind: her sister has mysteriously disappeared and she needs Chase's help to find her. But as their search through London's darkest corners re-ignites long-smoldering passion and memories of old battles, Chase and Rosalind are challenged to surrender: to the depths of a wicked desire, and to the possibility of love.
