A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Vicci
Binding Agreement: Wow! What a thoroughly well developed novel with an in-depth story-line, extensive character developments and thought provoking underlining sub-plot. Add in the amazing flashes of Hot, Steamy and total erotic sex and you have a novel that fast paced and exciting.
What do you do when a life altering experience makes you take a second look at how you’ve lived your life? Need a little zip in your step? Need to add a bit of sparks? Well that’s what Kay is about experience and it all starts with an innocent walk along a deserted beach.
The novel starts with a chance encounter on a deserted beach and launches straight into a sexual encounter between our two main characters, Kay and John. I loved the initial progression of the novel from the very erotic chance meeting to the bold and impetuous first encounter.
Kay’s internal struggles to walk the safe and narrow path in life or to throw caution to the wind by indulging a whim, and entering into a dominate/submissive sexual encounter with john were refreshing.
John’s initial gruffness and staunch dominating exterior provides the reader with a self assured, dominating yet troubled character. While at times he appeared be overbearing and extremely clip there is no doubt to the reader that his underlining concern for Kay’s well being is genuine, although he clearly has issue concerning personal attachments.
The root of John’s initial aloofness and reluctance to enter into a meaningful relationship is revealed by John, during a drive to Kay’s home and provides an even flow for the plot of the novel, by answering the unspoken question looming within the subtext of the novel; what happened to John to make him remove himself socially from society?
Kay’s character development as a problem-solver provides her the ability to pick away the layers of John’s façade to reveal the true nature of his aloofness, there by endowing her character with depth and insight essential to the story line.
Kay’s journey and exploration of her own sexual preferences and John’s inner struggles to remain removed from society provided the perfect blend of angst from each character perspective.
While as a reader I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, I felt there was a missing scene or description leading up to the climax; John’s acceptance of some of the events of his life and his realization that he did want a relationship with Kay was unclear.

Book Blurb for Binding Agreement
Book Length: Short Novel
A chance encounter on a moonlit beach draws sensible, cautious Kay Denehy into a night of anonymous passion and surrender with a ruthlessly dominant stranger. As John Randall introduces her to the exotic thrills of bondage and discipline, she learns who she really is under the prim schoolteacher exterior—a sexual submissive who needs the strict and ardent guidance of a take-no-prisoners Dom.
John carries more than his share of emotional baggage, the result of a tragedy for which he feels responsible. Though he cares for Kay, he refuses to pursue a relationship, certain he could only bring her pain. He pushes her away even as his subconscious dream self turns her into a sex slave to be punished and enjoyed ménage-style by two other zealous and demanding Doms.
For the first time in her life, Kay knows what she needs, and who she needs, to be sexually and emotionally fulfilled. She knows, too, the path John must take to escape his dark places—if only he’ll trust her to lead the way.
