A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Vicci
Living for the Act continues… As we re-enter the world of Raskayen, where at the end of part one; Ferris has been kidnapped by Dasha the leader of the Galinee clan, Borayn had been imprisoned and repeatedly tortured by Termatir the leader of the Meshoy clan and Jelan leader of the Ulathan clan along with Fraze were searching for the reasoning behind the sudden attack and to what purpose it served.
While living for the act part 1 is the foundation of the novel, part 2 provides the middle and meat of the story-line through a systematic representation of the events that take place in each main characters life as a result of the choices/decisions previously made in part 1.
The author has done a superb job of providing the reader with a smooth evenly written detail story-line that stays true the main theme of the novel. The reader is continuously drawn in to the Raskayen universe through the use of engrossing and sometimes painful burdens that each character experiences. The angst and situations thrust upon each character in the individual subplots, acts as a catalyst in the seamless transition of the main story-line to the individual subplots.
Each characters individual Personalities, desires, fears, expectations, actions and resulting consequences are revealed to the reader in multitude of scene switches that are written in such a manner that the reader does feel lost as each scenes switch from one to another.
I found the dynamics and complexity of each of the sub-plots within the overall novel and the extensive character development really allowed me as a reader to feel empathy, sorrow, joy and shock in varying degrees for each characters.
While reading the last page, I suddenly realized that while this novel is billed as “Living For The Act Part 2”, it is only a portion of an epic novel, that I hope to continue to enjoy. Now I'm onto Part 3.

The women of Raskayen need men for breeding purposes only. Could love complicate their plans?
On the verge of extinction after a long war, the women of Raskayen take the only chance to enlarge their population--they capture men from other worlds to use them in closed facilities. Restricted by rules, men are only for mating, not for love and the clan chiefs watch their groups of fertile males closely. In book two, Ferris meets some friends of old and learns that the clan chief wants him for good. Still there are rules even she cannot break.
