A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Dianna
Arianna Broun lives in Salem Mass in the year 1799 with her aunt, uncle and two nieces. Totally infatuated with her homeland of Scotland and the clothing from the 12th century, she has designed a Halloween gown that would fit nicely into that time. Having been through much in her young life, she is not prepared for the man from her fantasies to come to life. When she is thrown back in time on All Hallows Eve back to her country of birth but the timeframe is not that which she has known these 19 years. The year is 1199 instead of 1799 and the man from her fantasies is alive and well in front of her eyes. Iain Mac'Lomain is the Laird of his clan in the Highlands of Scotland in the year 1199. He is engaged to marry Arianna Broun who was raised on the eastern coast in the Lowlands of Scotland. Their marriage should have taken place several years earlier but was put of for a variety of reasons. When his intended "bride" shows up on his lands without an escort, he being the good Scotsman that he is, rushes out to save her. Little does he know that the woman whom he is so enchanted by is not the Arianna that he is intended to marry but another from another place in time. But when the magic that brought her to his time returns her to her own time, will the love that has grown between them be enough to let them transverse time yet again to be in each others arms or will Arianna be forced to marry someone else in her own time and continue with a life that she no longer wants? A lover of all things Scottish along with an avid love of anything that is fantasy, Fate's Monolith just hits my buttons. It's a lovely blend of two times and the trouble that would befall anyone that is taken across the fabric of time. Sky Purington has done a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I found it hard to put down and it made me wish for my own Highland Laird to come and sweep me off my feet and into a time where I could be loved for who I am. I hope you take the time to get lost in Fate's Monolith this summer just as I did. Re-issued review. Original review date: 2010-07-16

Book Blurb for Fate's Monolith
The MacLomain Series, #1 Arianna Broun, a Scottish born colonial American has been haunted by the reoccurring dream of a phantom Scottish warrior. Her infatuation with the dream intensifies until All Hallows' Eve, when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest. After several bizarre encounters she runs to her safe haven deep in the woods. When dawn comes too early, Arianna is eager to go home. But fate has other plans. Laird Iain MacLomain has long awaited the arrival of his promised bride. She claims to not be the woman intended for him but she fits the description given him of her, all fire and defiance. That defiance will end up costing them everything and rips them apart. However, a Scottish Chieftain with magic at his disposal is capable of most anything. Will he hold Arianna in his arms again or is she lost to him forever? Only time will tell. This novel contains strong sexual content and is recommended for a mature audience. Please NOTE: This is a re-launch of titles published years ago. The stories have been revised and tightened. And as aforementioned, the sensual heat level for all four has been turned way up.
