A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Dianna

Holden Antaeus is the General Consul for his family’s business Antaeus International.  When his manipulative big brother, Sean, informs everyone at a meeting that all of the executives are going away for a retreat Holden is not really happy about it.  Not only did he already have plans with his girlfriend of the moment, but he is also going to be losing a rather large deposit on the room he had booked for a nice 4-day weekend of sex he had planned with her.  It turns out that trying to decide how to placate Gina is the least of his worries…it seems that the spearmint he keeps smelling is the scent from Garret the new wiz kid that his brother has hired to work for them.  When he comes to realize why he seems to recognize Garret, not to mention the reason his scent is so strong for him, and the fact that his clan mark keeps tingling every time Garret comes near him - he has no idea how to deal with the truth that he has a male mate?

Garret Renquist is the new Chief Investment Officer for Antaeus International.  Not one to enjoy upheaval in his life, he keeps wondering why he first agreed to go to work for Stone Mortuary Services and then takes a job with Antaeus International a short time later.  Yet, when he finds himself in the same room with Holden and notices so many signs that can only mean one thing…he understands why he has done these things.   Holden is his intended mate!  Can he convince the very straight Holden that he has a male mate, or will they both spend the rest of their lives miserable because their intended mating was unfulfilled?

Lex Valentine is an author that deserves more recognition than she gets.  Fire Season is book 3 of her Tales of the Darkworld series and her first M/M book.  The first two books were good…this book is even better.  Not released in chronological order, each book can be read independently of each other.  It’s full of heart and with enough going on to keep you totally enthralled from start to finish.  She is definitely someone that you should pick up and read.  I know you will not be disappointed in her world…I never am.

Book Blurb for Fire Season

Erotic shape shifter (dragon) m/m romance
length: novel (55,000 words)

Black dragon Holden Antaeus isn’t looking for a mate. His life is filled with family, work, and dating. Women adore him and he’s never short of offers for sex, but a relationship isn’t something he’s interested in. When Holden’s brother Sean hires a new executive for Antaeus International, Holden’s whole world, and everything he’s ever believed about himself, is blown to bits. Garret Renquist is a green dragon, intelligent, witty, bi-sexual, and hot for Holden. Despite the fact that Holden is positive he’s heterosexual, the moment he meets Garret, something happens inside him. What follows is a journey through stereotypes and ingrained beliefs as Holden struggles with the fact that his destined mate is a man.
