A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Dianna

Rand believes that he is proof that good guys finish last. All of his self-proclaimed not nice friends are happily married. Yet here he is without even a date at the wedding of his last single friend. After pulling a hit and run on a red head at the wedding he heads home to find his godmother in residence. She isn’t helping matters any with her, “you need to find the right woman and embrace you destiny” stuff. Rand just wants to find what his parents, friends and godparents have, real love.

Brenna is convinced she will die an old maid that no one wants. “Good girl-next-door types don’t get the man” is her fear. Her best friends keep trying to convince her that a good guy will come along and will like her just as she is. Soon Brenda moves into her uncles house. That’s located next door to Rand. Things start to look up for both of them. But will they both manage to fulfill their destiny in time?

The Wise Guy is the first release from author Lex Valentine. It is a wonderful story about coming into your own, and finding that one special person that you are meant to be with. It is well written, with characters that catch your attention and hold you for the entire time you are reading. My biggest hope is that this will end up a mini series at least, or that the author writes more along this line. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book as soon as I can.

Book Blurb for Sunday's Child - The Wise Guy

Randall Wise is the quintessential good guy. However, all of his friends are married and he's still single. Rand is positive that good guys finish last at love and decides he needs to change if he's ever going to find a woman of his own.

Brenna Thorne is a clutzy but cute would-be witch who moves in next door to Rand. Men always think of Brenna like a sister. They never see her as girlfriend or mate material. Brenna longs for a man of her own who sees her sexy side and all the love she has to give.

A little magic from Rand's godparents, a familiar who isn't a familiar, and a host of well-meaning but surprising friends help Rand and Brenna see that all you need to find your mate is a heart that is open to love.
