A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Edie

Even life in a small, picturesque rural town can have an evil underbelly. Mark and Sarah Daniels live a good life in Lawton, Virginia. Sarah works with special needs children while Mark is an investigative reporter for the Winston Sentinel.

When Mark comes across disturbing information connected with several recent deaths, he and his partner, Don Sanchez, start digging. The deeper the two delve into the sinister secrets of Lawton’s largest employer, the more dangerous their mission becomes. Determined to stop the horror through a powerful expose, the pair doggedly pursues their leads until the wickedness hits too close to home.

Forgotten Children, by Michael W. Davis, jars the reader from thinking this is just another mystery, to an overt awareness that this type of activity could actually happen. With studied accuracy and precision, Mr. Davis lays down the plot in such a way that the reader descends deeply into this mesmerizing story.

Forgotten Children is a difficult book to set aside, and even more difficult to forget. Just as Sara has her recurring dreams about the children, the reader will remember the theme of this potent story for days to come.
