A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Heather
C.L. Wilson's latest Tairen Soul installment, King of Sword and Sky is a fabulous continuation to Rain and Ellie's story.
Rain and Ellysetta are traveling into the Fading Lands in the hope of saving the magical Tairen from dying. In this third book, Ellie having just discovered her true heritage of being Fey, is still trying to come to terms with her magic, what it means to be Rain's mate and that the mages of Eld are starting war. She bears the mage marks of the High Mage Vadim Maur, who wants her soul and to use her to destroy the Fey. Rain is dealing with trying to be king, after so many years of being absent. He is also trying to help Ellie in finding a cure for the Tairen and preparing the Fey for war. Rain and Ellie are truemates that are working towards completing their bond, which isn't an easy road.
I highly recommend this book as well as the first two in the series. The characters feel so real that you can feel the emotion in the dialogue.
This book is not a stand-alone; you should read Lord of the Fading Lands and Lady of Light and Shadows.
If you love fantasy and romance, then King of Sword and Sky is definitely a book that you should check out.
