A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Lilyraines
Nadine has been mourning her fiancés (Justin) death, which happened three years prior to the beginning of the story. Her best friend - and co-worker - Kane has always been there for her since they became friends at work, and it is no less true on each anniversary of Justin's death.
On this particular anniversary, Kane will try to convince Nadine that 1) it is time for her to move on and 2) that he loves her. Nadine's feelings have started to slowly grow towards Kane and she would like to move past her feelings for Justin, yet she is simply unsure of how to do it.
That is, until she stops in at a florist's to pick up a bouquet for Justin's grave and sees an advertisement for a psychic. Nadine thinks she will be able to move on if she would be able to say the goodbyes to Justin. She was denied this when he had died.
During the session (to which Kane goes with Nadine), Justin does not appear and both Kane and Nadine think it is a hoax and leave. That night, however, something magical happens that lets them deal with the grief and leads to something more - and a little unusual.
Letting Go was a wonderful and poignant read. It talks about grief, friendship, love, and finding out that the unexpected can be one of the best things you can have. A definite recommendation!
