A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Lisa_

A short story of lost love, Victoria Pitts-Caine quickly sets the scene for a couple separated by the Civil War and a meddlesome parent. The story traces the life of Katie, as she cares for her child and still, after 15 years, she is true to her love. Complicating the story is an early-unannounced marriage and a child, unknown before the separation of war. Still, in spite of time and life events, fate finds Katie awaiting a tryst beneath their tree.

A delightful short story and truly romantic ending! It could easily be the cornerstone for a series.
