A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: M Whelehan

This book was a little disappointing to me. I thought that it was too short of a read and not at all what I thought it would be.

Sully is a washed up singer and recovering drug addict and alcoholic. He has returned home to get himself together. He is also home to get back the girl he is in love with. He stays at a farm, which his love owns, while his sister checks up on him all the time.

Marley has lost everything she cared deeply about. Her parents are both dead, she has lost her ability to have children, and the love of her life. The only thing that she does not regret is divorcing her abusive husband. She is in danger of losing her farm because of her ex. So, she lets Sully, the love of her life, live on her farm with the stipulation that they are just going to be friends.

Marley’s ex, Taylor, has been harassing her about her farm. All of her workers have quit because her ex has told them too. Her ex will do anything to get the farm. He burned down the barn just to show that she cannot handle it on her own. But Marley has a backbone and refuses to give it up.

When Sully and Marley finally got back together I was sooo happy for them. They deserved a second chance at love.

I think that this book could have been a little longer. The whole problem with the ex-husband could have been more involved and could of went on a little longer than it did. The thing that I did like about the book was the descriptions that were made throughout. The way that everything was described made me feel like I was actually there experiencing everything along with the characters.

Book Blurb for Somewhere I Belong

Sullavan Tanner walked away from Jarvis, Ohio, afraid to give his heart to the woman he loved. He lived the rock and roll lifestyle, but never quite made it to the big time. Fifteen years later, he’s back and ready to claim what’s his—if she’ll accept his help.

Marley Lockwood’s done asking for help. The family farm is more than she can handle, but if she can survive a cancer scare, the loss of her parents, the abandonment by her first love, and a messy divorce, she can handle anything.

Until Sully shows up.

Although she’s not interested in rekindling the love affair, she’s not above accepting Sully’s hands on the farm. What’s the worst that could happen? They get the farm out of the red and into the black? That’s her plan. They actually fall in love? The past says it won’t work, so she’s not hedging her bets.

Too bad Sully’s not giving up this time.
