A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Melinda
Lucifer is his name and like the Devil himself he is charming and cunning. Two things that Lindsay Eden hates in a man especially one like him. He is mysterious and goes off every weekend to New York never telling anyone where he goes or why. All Lindsay knows is that he is the best salesman in the hotel and this worries her. She has a path and one goal to accomplish before her 40th birthday. The thing is that Luke distracts her in every way. The bet he sets upon her though is one that shocks her. Of all the things he could get he asks for a date. Not sure what to do she is afraid of what will happen during and after the date. Can she go on with this bet even though her heart is already with Lucifer?
Lucifer Furey Pierse is definitely rightly named in this book. As a child his father hated him and always reminded him he was like the devil. He always brings heartache, pain and destroys people’s lives. Coming to work at the same hotel she directs in marketing was a way to get to know her. The thing is for the past couple of months he wants more than just a working relationship with her. When he thought of the prize for the bet he never expected Lindsay to agree on it. Although once he set the wheels going he wants more than just a bet now. Can he convince Lindsay that he is not after her job but instead her heart?
Betting with Lucifer was a unique and comedic story of two people who so need each other and it’s funny how they keep denying the attraction. The working relationship between them is typical yet you can tell right away the sexual chemistry is there. Tracey Cooper-Posey did a good job in the story line about lies. She deftly writes in sometime hidden secrets between her characters. This is definitely one of those books that is so like life yet Tracey has a way of making the story romantic in a way you never expected it to happen. Loved it.

Book Blurb for Betting With Lucifer
Length: Novel
Lindsay is determined to outshine the memory of her mother’s illustrious career. As head of the marketing department of the exclusive Freeman Hotel, high up in the rarified mountain air of northern Washington, she grapples with her rival, the charming newcomer, Lucifer Furey Pierse.
No one knows much about Luke except that he could turn a murder into a side-splitting comedy routine and he has an eye for women, including an inexplicable attraction for the prickly, definitely not-interested Lindsay.
It starts with a bet that goes horribly wrong. When Luke wins the bet and Lindsay is forced to pay the price, she learns more about him than she thought existed…and the process of discovery for both of them becomes a bittersweet journey through their personal histories as they learn why they are the people they have become. Then life hands them an unexpected twist they must deal with, one that tests both of them to their limits.
