Sergeant Justin Harrison is back to work and deep into a murder scene. He knew right away that going back to work was going to be hard yet he never expected to meet Paige Conroy. Something about this woman enchants him. Coming back to work on a murder case was just what he needed yet something about this one with Paige sounds fishy. All the clues link up to her but she has no idea why. The time he is spending with her is driving him crazy. One minute he suspects her as the culprit the next he wants to be with her forever. Justin knows it is against policy to fraternize with the eyewitness yet something about Paige gets to him. His life has always been about work and he’s realizing now what he has been missing in life. Can Paige get him to live outside of police work? Can he protect Paige from the real killer before it is too late?
Paige Conroy is a photographer who knows how to take pictures. Yet one picture haunts her right now…especially the man in the picture. She’s put her past in the past yet someone from it wants her dead. Paige knows her ex-husband died but something about the picture doesn’t make sense. Meeting Justin and knowing he’s part of the police just gets her more agitated. Something about him brings out the desires in her she thought were hidden and makes her want to be alive again. Justin has a way of making her feel again something that she has not felt for a long time. She swore never to love an officer again but somehow Justin is making it hard to follow her rule. The killer has already killed one of her friends. Can she outsmart him this time. Can Justin protect her in time?
Sarah Grimm has done it again with a fabulous romantic suspense. Throughout each chapter the killer is one step ahead of Justin and this upsets him. He’s always worked hard and knowing someone is playing with him gets to him. I loved how determined he was and swore he would do anything to protect his woman. Right off the bat you can tell these two had chemistry yet Paige tried to deny it. The way the killer comes out in this story is one that will surprise you. The suspense and attraction was awesome and this is definitely an author that will blow your mind away.
