As you start the book, Zoe is shaken, shaky, and not at all what you expect from one of Ms. Leigh's leading ladies. Agreeably, this soon changes and you are swept along with Zoe's quest to make the best of her circumstances. Her new neighbors, Conn and Marcel, are endearing, strong heroes yet still have their moments of doubt as to whether they will be able to win Zoe. When past comes back to disrupt Serenity the reader cannot be certain whether anyone will have a happy ending. I found the characters to be charming, the story vastly appealing, and when Conn, Marcel and Zoe get together it was scorching! The suspense adds just enough spice of another sort to keep you wanting to find out what happens next. I highly recommend adding this to your library.
