What a fantastic off world story. Zor the High King of Tryston and Emperor of Trek Mi Q'an galaxy is in search of his Sacred Mate. His seer tells him that his Sacred Mate can be found on Earth, but that sometimes she is wrong. Zor must travel to Earth to confirm that the woman foretold his Sacred Mate. Kyra Summers and her friend have just finished a week long "vacation" to The Smiling Faces and Peaceful Hearts Meditation Center. Upon leaving the center and putting their belonging in the car Zor kidnaps Kyra. Zor confirms she is his Sacred Mate by removing her clothing without touching her. Only Sacred mates can move objects that are attached to a person's body. Also, Kyra is trapped in his gaze and cannot look away - Another Sacred Mate test. Upon loosing the gaze Kyra looses consciousness from the stress. She awakes aboard a spaceship. Kyra is soon to be the new Empress and her journey has begun. Kyra is forced to wear new clothing and learn a new culture. Things are very different on this new world. People do not birth babies.they have very different sexual behaviors. Kyra must adapt or be unhappy. As Kyra adapts she learns what a Sacred Mate entail and how Zor loves her. Zor is a person seeped in tradition and it's hard for him to accept that Kyra thinks some of his traditions are not acceptable. These two must find a balance if they are to make each other totally happy. This book was phenomenal. It included erotica, love, and unbelievably excellent Sci Fi. The book left me with a craving for a lot more and I'm happy to say the series just begins with the Empresses' New Clothes. We meet many of Zor's brothers, friends, and family in this book. You can also read their stories via Ellora's Cave. The next book is called No Mercy and the third is Enslaved. The series continues from there. I'm ready to gobble them all up!
