A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Valerie
Shadow Falls used to be a quiet small town. Until the Nightcap Strangler resurfaced, terrorizing the town and started a series of events which unearthed some deep secrets. Now that the Nightcap Strangler case has been closed the residents are starting to get back to normal but for one resident, Olivia Dupree, her past is catching up. A mysterious stranger is about to enter her life and catapult her into the journey of a lifetime. Olivia is fighting for her life and her future.
Maggie Shayne has crafted an exceptional follow-up novel to Killing Me Softly. The story picks up shortly after the first book ends and we are introduced to a few new characters. The reader is drawn into the story quickly and taken on an exciting roller coaster ride of adventure, suspense and romance. One of my favorite things about this book is how Maggie Shayne has woven Freddy, Olivia’s Mastiff companion, into the story. Freddy is not just a dog but Olivia’s sidekick. Freddy comes to life in a way few storytellers are willing or able to demonstrate and will leave readers wanting a Freddy of their own. The writing is fast-paced and characters and events are very well defined throughout the book. As readers follow the story the suspense keeps you guessing. Kill Me Again is a beautiful, exciting story that readers will not want to miss out on.
