A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Zollyanna

Megan is the secretary and an advisor to Edward Davidson head of Davidson’s Machine and Tool. His son Michael is a soldier in the US Military. Michael is on one of his rare occasions of taking an interest in the company and is thinking of helping his father with the problem that is plaguing the place.

During dinner, Michael is hesitant to discuss matters with his father in front of Megan. When she excuses her self to go to the bathroom they quickly make their talk. When she returns she notices notes on the folder that was brought to dinner for Michael to look at. These notes are an indicator that she is trusted and that Michael wants his father to rely on her for help with company matters and meetings.

Megan is enamored with Michael and would have liked to get to know him better but he has to get back to his duties as a Special Air Serviceman. Michael had put in for a six months leave to go home after his current mission, as he wanted to help sort out the mess at the factory. Because his father’s health is not as good as he made it out to be the doctors have said that he needs to not have business pressures.

The next time that Megan saw Michael was at his father’s funeral, a few days less than six months later. She could see that the service was wearing on him. The shop employees viewed Michael as a savior of the company.

The company workers knew that if anyone could pull the company out of the fire he could and he had said before that he would rather sell his soul than let his families company go bankrupt or fold.

Megan was finding out new information about Michael every day from some of the employees and her observations.

Megan had been his father’s secretary but also sometimes his most trusted advisor but Michael was treating her just as a secretary, which bothered her. The company was in trouble and it was his job to pull it out and it looked to her that he was not doing anything to address the core problem and she let him know her assumption. He told her he was looking for a solution but had not found one yet but that if she found one by all means call him and let him know.

Will Michael and Megan be able to pull off their presentations and pull Davidson’s out of the water? Will there be a future for them?
