A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Zollyanna

Amanda is a college student studying ancient Greece and her beliefs are based on ancient Greek religion. She is a devotee of Apollo. She meets a man named Jesse who contacted her to talk to her about her research in ancient Greek Majiks. She wonders if he is Italian or if he just dresses Business Goth, because of his all black attire including the black leather jacket, accented with silver chain. They talk over coffee about her research and different aspects of Greek religion and Majiks when it starts getting late he asks her if he can walk her home if it is nearby. Amanda lets him know that she takes the subway; he then tells her that he will walk her to the train. Before they depart he asks her if he can call her sometime, she gives him her number and her promises to call her. He does and asks her to dinner, which is where he shows her one of his old Latin books on Greek other Majiks. But when she is not looking he shows his true side dropping a few drops of his blood into her wine so that he can keep track of her wherever she goes. Jesse is a vampire although Amanda does not know this yet. He is also a member of the Order of the Dragon and the Rose he has noticed a few things as well talking to Amanda. One is that she has telekinetic powers once she gets a little tipsy and that she doesn't know it. The second is that she has great reflexes as well when a server in the restaurant walked by and one of the plates he was carrying fell from his hand she reached out and it looked like it dropped right into her hand. She did it without even looking or thinking; he was amazed at a human that only dabbled in majik having powers that advanced. I don't want to give too much more away, because you have just got to read this book to find out what happens between Amanda and Jesse.

Adrianne Brennan adds another great vampire romance to our shelves. The characters are bold and full of life. Adrianne is a bright and very talented writer she has definitely given me another one for my keeper shelf. I hope to be able to read many more of her books in the future.

Special Notes: This book was published with Aphrodite's Apples a publisher that has closed. The author has some copies available for sale via her website.
