When to Engage an Earl

Spinster House

Sally MacKenzie pens a delightful romance with this Regency tale. Miss Jane Wilkinson and Alex, Earl of Evans have the kind of chemistry that makes for a perfect read. Every single one of their interactions had me just hanging on to their every word and looking forward to their every action. Alex claimed a piece of my heart almost from the very beginning and I couldn't wait to see what was going to come about. Jane was definitely not the embodiment of the wife Alex thought that he wanted but that didn't stop him from deciding to peruse her and that per suit was beyond entertaining. Jane's wit and occasional sharpness made everything all the more entertaining for me. Watching her struggle with her long held beliefs made me sympathize with her while sometimes making me chuckle as well. I also found myself smirking and giggling a time or two at the antics of Jane's feline roommate. I cannot wait to see some of the secondary characters in this book get their very own adventures. If you are a fan of this author or this genre I think this is one you have to pick up, I'm so happy I did.

The Story: Miss Jane Wilkinson is finally where she wants to be. she is now residing in the Spinster House but if she plans to remain unmarried why is she finding herself longing to spend more and more time with Alex, Earl of Evans?
