Obviously B.J. Daniels has a vision for the Cahill family introduced in RENEGADES PRIDE which sets the stage for many more stories. RENEGADES PRIDE is a story that resonates with anyone from a small town. B.J. Daniels reveals just how complicated relationships can be and how big a part the power of public opinion can play. There are lots of ah ha moments in RENEGADES PRIDE. It’s classically crafted by B.J. Daniels and resplendent with some very interesting characters.
Trask Beaumont had no one in his camp with the exception of Lillie Cahill, but at nineteen even the love they shared couldn’t withstand the circumstances they faced. You might think together they were stronger but Trask knew it was selfish to allow Lillie to follow him on a possible path to nowhere. He wasn’t certain he had any chance of a future and wasn’t willing to let his Lillie face such a precarious fate. So he left.
By leaving Trask broke Lillie’s heart and earned the hatred of her loving and supportive father and brothers. But someone in Gilt Edge Montana was happy to see Trask leave especially with the cloud of guilt over Gordon Quinn’s murder following. Circumstantial evidence pointed to this young man with a rough dubious past. Trask needed to grow up. He needed to get his act together and unfortunately for Lillie that meant leaving her behind. Nine years later it’s as if Gilt Edge never aged. But Trask has and he’s back to clear his name and get his girl back.
Trask is staying out of sight but a renewed interest in the death of Gordon is making some very anxious. There is always a danger in upsetting the proverbial apple cart and that’s exactly what Trask and Lillie are doing.
This is a great who dun it that makes it seem like the list of possibilities keeps growing. RENEGADES PRIDE is a great introduction to a new series by B.J. Daniels. Just wait till you meet the strange cast of characters and I do mean characters that B.J. Daniels cooked up for RENEGADES PRIDE. From Lillie’s father Ely who is pretty convinced he has been abducted by aliens to the highly dysfunctional Quinn family. This is a delightful page turner that despite having murder at its core is actually funny and endearing.
