The Dare and the Doctor

Winner Takes All, #3

This third book in the Winner Takes All series is the perfect book for any Regency era romance reader. It’s funny, witty and exemplary. Are they friends or are they more? Is Dr. Gray betrothed or isn’t he? Does Margaret dare or will she follow society’s rules? There is so much going on and yet this book is so smooth that you find yourself lost in it’s wonderful relationships. The Regency era comes out in duels and men only societies. Yet, the romance comes across as charming and even a bit scandalous. I loved the characters and the confusion. I loved all the secondary characters and the back story that kept peeking through. I loved how the servants became part of the story and not merely there. I even loved Dr. Gray’s large family. In fact, I can’t recall anything I didn’t like about this excellent romance.

Margaret met Dr. Gray about a year ago and they have been corresponding ever since. Through their letters, they have been getting closer yet each would tell you that they are only friends. When Dr. Gray extends an invitation for Margaret to share her prized roses, she agrees to go to London. Once there, she discovers everything is not as she thinks.
