Hi Elsa! It's great to have you over to our area of the net. Please tell us about your book "The Whisperer".
High school teacher Cilla Stevens has always been different, especially in how she connects with animals. When she calms a stray dog during an incident at school, she’s asked to help a nearby farm with a difficult horse.
Cameron Rahl has had a very different relationship with animals since his mother died in a horse riding accident. But now he's inherited his family’s farm, he's determined to never let anyone affect him that way again.
Until he meets Cilla. He tries to stay away from the gorgeous horse whisperer with the potential to tame him, but something keeps pulling him close. And as much as Cilla tells herself she can keep it casual, she knows they're too connected to be 'just a fling.'
Will Cilla's heart win out? Or will it take history repeating itself for Cameron to realise just how much he needs her?
At what point did you know you wanted to publish a book?
I've always had these voices in my head talking endlessly to one another. When I wrote my first story, I was so relieved to be finally able to write down what was going on between these faceless people!
Is your home a place of order or chaos?
Order. Except when our 3 grandsons visit, then there is chaos. But I work better when I know everything else is done.
What genres do you write in and what inspired you to write in these genres?
I write in both Afrikaans and English and usually write contemporary romance. In The Whisperer, though, the heroine is a horse whisperer, an idea that is perhaps a little bit outside the norm of 'contemporary'
What is our favorite drink?
Tea and wine
What is your writing place like?
I have a nook in our bedroom where I write.
What's next for you as an author?
A story about a ghost, an extreme sport athlete and a heroine who has been hurt in the past :)
It has been a pleasure chatting with you.
Thanks Night Owl Reviews for this opportunity and thanks to everyone who stopped by today - I appreciate it!
