Interview

Death Upon Me was published with Lulu.com July 2010. It is a dramatic romance. It was also release on Amazon August 2010 and is now available on Kindle as well.

Please tell us your latest news!

I am being featured November 18 in From A Writer's POV Magazine - http://fromawriterspovmagazine.com It is available in print and digital formats.

I am currently working on four projects and am hoping to have Night Secrets finished and published early 2011.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

I don't think I would change anything in the book. Death Upon Me is based on a lot of life experiences, so if I could do life over again lol, I may have changed how I lived. It's one of those, "If I knew back then what I know now" sayings that you wish you could go back and do it over again.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I love JD Robb aka Nora Roberts. She has such a writing style that carries humor and suspense all in one. I love her work.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I don't really. My writing style changes I think depending on what the story is about. I am recently trying my first experience of writing in the third person. I usually write in the first person which can be difficult, as not to continually use I and me. Third person is a completely different experience.

Do you see writing as a career?

No. My career is working as a pediatric home care nurse. I write just for the love of writing. Writing is one of those things that you can't expect to make big bucks, you just have to enjoy it.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I have always been interested in writing. As a child my imagination was wild. I would write stories and read them to my stuffed animals. I was always creating some kind of fantasy world with magical powers. Writing comes naturally.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Don't write for anyone but yourself. If you write to please others then your not allowing yourself to write freely because you are too worried about what other people think. If you write for yourself without worrying, you can create a magnificent story.

How does your family feel about having a writer in the family? Do they read your books?

My family is thrilled that I write. They do read my books, my 20 yr old daughter being my biggest fan. She critiques a lot but mostly just asks, "When will it be done?" She always wants more.

Do you write full time? What did you do before you became a writer? Or Still do?

No I don't write full time. I work as a nurse on the night shift. I also run and organize virtual book tours at The Virtual Book Tour Cafe', helping other authors market and promote their works. I write when time allows and when the muse strikes.

What is your writing process? Do you outline, fly by the seat of your pants or a combination of both?

I tried the fly by the seat of my pants bit, and I was completely lost. I had no idea where the story was going, so yes I have to have an outline. I create just a basic outline with a few keywords to allow me to know where the book is going. Then I fly by the seat of my pants to fill in the chapters. The outline is just for direction.

Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example..get coffee, blanket, paper, pen and a comfy place

I love to have a cup of coffee when I write. I also buy journals that are bright in color and write ideas and outlines in that. I tend to listen to my favorite band Shot In The Dark 357 while writing too. They let my mind escape into my character with their songs, giving me the relaxation needed.

What main genre do you write in?

Mainstream Fiction Romance
