This was an awesome book. The story line was fantastic. I absolutely loved all the characters. I could not put this book down. It only took me a few days to read it. I was totally engrossed in the story.
Nora needs a job, she has two little kids to feed and clothe. She came to Virgin River, an unwed mom after her boyfriend up and left her to fend for herself. She has found herself surrounded by friends. A gift she never thought to obtain. She needs a better paying job to help support her little family. She she's an add for an apple picker at Cavanaugh's Orchard. Thanks to some clever intervention by Cavanaugh's grandmother she gets the job.
Tom had no intention of hiring Nora. She may have drive, but he doesn't think that she can handle the tough demands of picking apples. His grandmother has other ideas. She recognizes the same spirit in Nora that she had when she first came to Cavanaugh's Orchard and thanks to intervention by Tom's grandfather's mother she was hired as well.
Little did Nora and Tom suspect what happens next. They become friends, more surprisingly to Tom than Nora. After all, she is not who he pictures as his ideal woman. Surprise, surprise they both find out that, that is exactly what she is. Can Tom overcome his fears of her excess baggage, and can Nora learn to trust a man again?
